Our armed forces covenant

We want to demonstrate our support for our Armed Services Community, recognising the value the Community contributes to preserving our way of life, facilitating our businesses and economy, and protecting our country.

The Community includes not only Regular Serving Personnel, but also Reservists, Veterans and military families. Each group has its own needs and deserves our special consideration for the challenges they face – past, present and future.

No disadvantage

No member of the Armed Forces Community should face disadvantage compared to any other citizen. We consider

Special treatment

In some circumstances, special treatment or assistance may be appropriate, especially for the injured or bereaved. We need to be aware of the difficulties faced by some members of the Community and make reasonable adjustments to accommodate their needs.

Flexibility and support

An extra degree of flexibility in planning and resource management is required when considering the needs of Reserve personnel, and the families of Serving personnel.

Events and training

Wherever possible and appropriate, we provide discounts for training we provide, as well as providing speakers at discount rates for events organised by members of the Armed Forces.
